Welcome to Mitchelton State Special School

Our School provides alternative educational programs for students with intellectual impairment.  A large percentage of our school population also have additional disabilities, including autism, hearing, vision and physical impairments.

In 2010 we support approximately 160 students.  90 of these are school aged students and 70 are enrolled in our Early Childhood Development Program. These students come from a large geographical area, essentially comprising inner and outer north west Brisbane.

To be enrolled in our school students must be diagnosed with an intellectual impairment and live within the school's catchment area (i.e. Mitchelton is the closest special school to their home.

For more information pertaining to enrolment please contact the Principal or alternatively the Principal Education Officer (PEO) at Brisbane North District Office (Education Queensland).
