Parent resources

Mitchelton Special School Community is supportive of parent needs.
The following resources are available in our school to assist you.

Parent Room and ResourcesParent Resource Room

The Parent Room is located off the canteen preparation area (B Block) and is available as a comfortable space for parents to relax, make a cuppa or chat with others. Come and visit anytime.
 
A collection of parenting and disability-focused resources are displayed in the parent room for browsing or borrowing. Click here to view our collection.
We also have brochures about services and information on a wide range of topics including respite, funding, future planning, communication, behaviour and recreation options.
You can also find out about the latest workshops and community events that may be of interest.

 Parent Support

Our Parent Liaison Officer, Kylie Graham is available at school to
·         welcome new families
·         help support parents with information about our school
·         answer questions
·         assist and guide with services
·         listen to parent concerns and feedback.
 
Contact Kylie at school on Mondays and Tuesdays or drop into the Parent Room.
 

Parent Education

Parent education sessions are offered throughout the school year on a variety of topics. A number of these will be evening sessions with childminding provided.   Our next Parent Education  Program will be held on Tuesday 6th May at 6pm at the school.  The topic is Funding Processes presented by the Department of Communities- Disability Services.  Please print, complete the RSVP and return to the school if you are interested in attending.
